Cowboy Alert

Beware of cheap immitations.  Like any industry, not all companies will have the same ethical approach or committment to giving you the best materials, components, and workmanship.  There are also some inferior imports doing the rounds.  All our security products exceed the current standards, and come with Full Warranties and our Respond and Resolve Satisfaction Guarantee.  We only use Austral locks because they are the strongest and most reliable products in the industry.

A Cowboy will tell you its fine to fit a Triple Lock Door into your existing door jamb. That sweet savings becomes a bitter aftertaste when you have locks that stick and jam intermittently instead of a door that works smoothly EVERY time.  Your door jamb shrinks and expands with weather conditions and the locks don't - We strongly recommend a Subframe.

Security Standards disctate that the mimimum standard for a security door is a single locking door with bar at top and bottom.  An intruder will try the top and bottom of a security door to see if they can pull it out.  The bar does help prevent this but unfortunately over time the weight can cause issues and the door may drop or sag, and it may rattle.  This is the cheapest method on the market and we won't touch it because we refuse to make a product that we know you'll have problems with.

Many companies are quoting UV Ray Block Out Percentages, whilst its true that Sheerguard and Invisi-gard Stainless Steel Mesh will help keep your home cooler in Summer and warmer in Winter, the Australian Window Association told us in January 2009 that they are still waiting for the technology to be able to test this correctly, no one can truthfully quote you a percentage.

If you are considering window tinting be aware - are they covering the entire window, not just the visual.  If the tinting is only to the beading then an intruder will simply remove one shattered piece, easily.  If you are considering it for your patio doors the same applies, and this glass is already laminated.  We recommend a fixed security panel to match your door for your patio doors and we can cover both sides of your windows.  With this option we recommend installing fire exit screens in the bedrooms so that in the event of an emergency you can exit safely.
