How to Measure and Fit Sliding Security Doors

Sliding Security Doors are available in Grille, Sheerguard or Stainless Steel Mesh. They are either fitted into the existing track or we can supply door plus new tracking system.

Measuring for your new door is simple, just follow these easy instructions.

Fit into Existing Track

The top channel must be 20mm wide to accept a 19mm thick door frame. We will need the overall size that you want the door to be. Measure the height from inside the top channel to the top of the running track then subtract 13mm. This will be the height.

Measure the width from inside the channel to the glass edge of fixed panel and add 22mm (this is for interlocking). This will be the width.

Standard handle height is 1170mm from the sill to the bottom of the lock body. The handle usually goes above your existing patio door handle.

From the outside looking in, select handle position. ie left hand door opens left to right.

Select the colour - we recommend you match to your existing frames for continuity.

Fit with New Tracking System

Measure the height and width of the patio glass door and we will supply tracking that can be face fitted to the locking stile and top track. Fit the running track into the floor. Track will need to be cut to suit the patio door.

Standard height is 2143mm, allow 10mm for sagging eaves.

We will supply a filler channel for the gap from the screen door to the glass door.
